Practical Wisdom
I am passionate about guiding people to health and wholeness, and to instill hope when someone is struggling through difficulties. Nothing makes me happier or more fulfilled than seeing someone find relief, regain confidence, and develop a sense of control over their lives. When someone trusts me with things they might not have shared with anyone else, it reminds me that it's an immense honor and a privilege to do what I do.
My main areas of expertise are treating OCD, anxiety, depression, and trauma-related disorders using cognitive behavioral therapy and other research-supported techniques. I also see people for a variety of other issues, including adjustment to difficult life events, life transitions, challenging family dynamics, and relationship problems. My main goal is to create a safe, supportive space where I can provide practical and effective treatment that is tailored to your specific needs.
By examining the relationship between thoughts and feelings and how these can create unhelpful patterns of behavior, we can hone in on a goal directed treatment plan that will practically address these target areas. Some examples of techniques I use are Exposure and Response Prevention, and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction.
I maintain a private practice in Manhattan and primarily do individual therapy with adults and adolescents. I have an international background and have collaborated with many different individuals across my varied life experiences. In addition to working with people, I love good food, good humor, and traveling to new places.
